Holly H. Walker serves as an associate attorney at Cosgrove Simpson. Ms. Walker’s practice focuses on advising clients on regulatory matters in the financial services industry, supporting the firm's diverse litigation practice, and representing investors and financial advisers, among others, in all types of litigation. Ms. Walker also represents clients who are the subjects of non-compete and contractual covenant enforcement matters in state and federal court.
Before law school, Ms. Walker spent 8 years working in the areas of banking and wealth management. She started her career working for a trust company supporting workplace retirement solutions. Ms. Walker assisted sub-advisors in setting up and managing model portfolios. This included model maintenance and rebalancing, security set up, corporate action processing, and daily NAV calculations. She then spent several years in the banking sector. First analyzing and underwriting residential and commercial real estate loans, and then managing a portfolio of $20-40M commercial real estate loans at a mid-size bank. In addition to reviewing financial statements for compliance with loan agreements and pro formas, Ms. Walker worked with legal counsel to modify and negotiate terms to loan agreements for investor borrowers. She regularly assisted with the lender’s compliance and risk departments to ensure loans remained in compliance with the lending risk policy and with US Treasury-imposed regulations for lenders.
During law school, Ms. Walker served as a rule 13 student attorney in the St. Louis University School of Law Entrepreneurship and Community Development transactional clinic, where she performed legal services and provided advice to non-profit organizations and small businesses related to entity formation, tax exemptions, and governance. She also worked as a teaching assistant for the legal research and writing course and served as the Treasurer for the Law School’s chapter of Phi Alpha Delta. She also gained litigation experience in title insurance, business, and commercial matters.
Ms. Walker earned a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Finance from Colorado State University in 2014 and her law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2024.
